Meditation as a Radical Act of Creativity

Creativity isn’t just a ‘nice to have’.

Being creative is essential for our wellbeing.

Creativity can be expressed in painting, drawing and dancing as we know.

But it can also be unleashed through cooking, gardening and dare I say it, cleaning!

And all these acts of creativity, whether it’s cooking or dancing or both, are actions we take in the outside world.

But creativity is ‘an inside job’ as my friend says.

And so you can be creative in your meditation practice too.

You can go anywhere you wish in your meditation. You can hang out and meditate with whoever you like. You can eat and drink without putting on a single pound!

You can meditate on the moon or do mindful yoga on Uranus - all possibilities are available, with minimal impact on the environment too.

Meditation is like using a computer. With the computer you can run all sorts of different programs and do all sorts of different things.

But unlike a computer, your brain stays upgraded to the latest version as long as you keep using it!

So rather than doing the same old meditation everyday, try something new.

This will give your brain a much needed upgrade to the latest version, and leave you feeling nice and refreshed.

To download the latest software into your brain, listen to this week’s guided meditation. And you can imagine you’re a member of our daily mindfulness club and are meditating creatively along with us. :)
