Being present
Coming back to the here and now, again and again, instead of being lost in thought.
ACT helps you live a more meaningful life. It’s a highly evidence-based approach that brings together acceptance, mindfulness, values and committed action to grow your psychological flexibility — the science-backed key to a more resilient, richer life.
Together, these six skills — practised gently over time — have been shown across thousands of studies to lead to a more resilient, meaningful life.
Coming back to the here and now, again and again, instead of being lost in thought.
Making room for difficult feelings rather than fighting or avoiding them.
Unhooking from unhelpful thoughts — seeing them as thoughts, not commands.
Resting in the part of you that notices — steady, whatever passes through.
Getting clear on what truly matters to you — your own compass for living.
Taking small, meaningful steps toward your values, one at a time.
Most online ACT programmes are just video recordings. Ours is different: when you takeACT for Beginners as a self-study course, you also join an online community — so you can ask questions of fellow learners and of your teacher, Shamash Alidina, directly.
You can learn from the comfort of home, access high-quality training from anywhere, and go at your own pace. If you later want in-person training, you’ll have a strong foundation to build on.
