How to Use Mindfulness to Boost Your Immune Function

I wasn’t feeling well a few weeks ago. And as I host daily meditations, which I either guide myself or one of our other mindful teachers guide, I wondered what effect it’s having on my immune system.

Turns out, mindfulness practice is good for your immune system. The exact way it works and if these findings will hold up requires more studies, as ever.

I’ve studied a type of mental exercise in the past called ‘Guided Imagery’, which involves visualisation. In their research, they found when you visualise your immune system fighting whatever disease you’re fighting, you heal faster. And amazingly, the more detail in which you visualise the actual disease and the actual way your immune system fights it, the better it worked!

I combined that idea together with the classical principles of mindfulness and kindfulness to create today’s meditation. I hope you find it helpful.
